Changing Fibres

The Novel KAMELEN 25/9 2014

The 25th of septembre my novel KAMELEN will be published by Flugans Förlag, a micropublishing company I started this summer.

A Camel leaves the Caravan to set out on a journey into the desert. On her own. The decision to walk into nothing set things in motion. A stream of thoughts, feelings, memories and stories surface. In the desert there is time. Time to walk. Time to exist. Time to se oneself. Who am I?

It is an Novel about growth. An autobiography. A fable for adults.

Dalslands konstmuseum 2/8 – 21/9 2014

galleryDuring summer 2014 I did a large soloshow TOPIA at Art Museum of Dalsland 2/8 – 21/9 2014. By combining thin textile threads with steel skeletons I built a landscape of floating vegetation in a space of 140m2. To walk into this landscape of moving sculptures is a physical and sensuous experience. Fragile and colorful structures surrounds you while their shadows become moving drawings on the walls. There is a meditative quality when you experience the visual complexity through the senses.

They Operate from a Certain Position 7/6 – 8/6 2014

2014 they operate from a certain positionDuring the performance festival THEY OPERATE FROM A DIFFERENT POSITION the artistduo SKÄLVA did two returnwalks, an hour each. Anyone could join an explore space through moving together. Discovering an ordinary street with new eyes.

"We are interested in communication through movement. Our events are meetings between people who come from different backgrounds and different moving patterns. The explorations have shown that a group can surprisingly fast build a communication through improvised movement.

How much freedom to move can we give ourselves in the city? In a place where we will be observed by random passersby’s. This is a political question. We are not doing performances. We bring energy into the place but do not force a reaction. We respect the surroundings. Our strategy is play."

Textilesummer. Virserums Konsthall 11/5 – 7/12 2014

During 2014 the mobile HYPERTROPHY II is shown at Virserums Konsthall.

Seven flowers 1,7-2,2m high will dance with you.

A dream is a seed that you can plant in the earth.
Resolve fear and worry in water and use this to nurture the sprout.
Don´t be surprised if the plant that is coming is a new type.
Let it stretch to the skies and take down a star for you.
Recieve.

Dancing Flowers

In 2009 I made my very first motordriven sculptures. Inspired by a course in mechanics and electronics for female artist run by my friend Harriet Aurell. Check her homepage for courses.

These simple ladies all have their own character due to the imbalance created by their bodies. They are my first employes. Floor cleaning crew…

To Let Go

Five flowers move extremely slowly creating a landscape you can walk into, a very physical expereince. The work is constantly changing shape, creating  a moving drawing on the walls. A medatative stillness.

The slowest flower has a loop of 15 minutes. That slow experience doesn´t work on film. I documented the work by timelapse photography. When they saw the camera most people avoided the work and didn´t walk into it. I didn´t manage to get a full view of all five. Still this short documentation give you a glimpse of how the work function. Enjoy.
